In 1947, a group of civic-minded women teamed up to help low-income residents of San Diego County and the Social Service League was born.
For more than seventy years the League has been providing affordable housing and meals to those who have lived and worked in San Diego but cannot otherwise afford decent housing after retirement.
Our many generous members and volunteers support the League activities and fund-raising efforts so the league can continue to provide housing and meals to seniors.
Since 1947. the Social Service League has relied on the tireless help of our dedicated membership to run our organization. Volunteer opportunities include:
- Hostessing Darlington House events
- Planning fundraising events
- Helping at resident parties
